SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics has restarted its 60,000 tonne/year No 2 butanediol (BDO) plant over the weekend after completing more than a month of maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The plant was restarted last weekend, and it is running normally,” the source said but he declined to give more details.

The No 2 BDO plant located at Mailiao was shut down in mid-April for maintenance.

The company’s 40,000 tonne/year No 1 BDO plant at the site was taken off line in early May for maintenance, the source said adding it was not sure when the plant will restart in light of weak market demand.
