SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has settled its May butadiene (BD) contract at $2,280/tonne (€1,824/tonne), down by $832/tonne from the previous month, a company source said on Wednesday.
In April, the contract price settlement was $3,112/tonne pipeline DEL (delivered).
YNCC's monthly contract price settlement is based on the average spot BD values for that particular month.
BD spot prices have been falling on weak demand, as several downstream synthetic rubber plants in Asia are either shut for maintenance or operating at reduced rates.
In the week ended 25 May, BD spot prices were at $1,950-2,000/tonne CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia, down by $800/tonne from the end of April, ICIS data showed.
