SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's Nissan Chemical Industries is to shut its 50,000 tonne/year melamine unit at Toyama on 23 June for a 45-day annual maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
“The melamine plant will restart on 6 August and there will be an output loss of around 2,000–3,000 tonnes in the export market during the shutdown period,” the source added.
However, the source said there will be no major impact on its regular customers, as the company will accumulate enough inventory to ensure smooth delivery during the maintenance period.
The melamine unit is currently operating at around 70–80% capacity.
