HOUSTON (ICIS)--The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved fines totalling $207,378 (€165,902) against Dow Chemical for several emissions violations, the agency said on Wednesday.
The fines are for five reporting violations in Brazoria County and one violation for exceeding annual allowable emissions rates, stemming from an investigation on 14 April 2011, the TCEQ said.
“Of the total, $103,689 will be used by the Houston-Galveston Clean Cities/Clean Vehicles Program to replace diesel buses with those that run on alternative fuel or clean diesel,” the TCEQ said.
Dow did not immediately return a request for comment.
