China’s Hebi Coal starts building new BDO plant in Henan province

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hebi Coal Group has started building a new 50,000 tonne/year butanediol (BDO) plant at Hebi in Henan province, a source from the Hebi municipal government said on Thursday.

A ground breaking ceremony was held on 29 May, with the plant expected to be completed in one year, the source said.

The plant represents the second phase of the company’s 100,000 tonne/year BDO project.

In the first phase of the project, a 50,000 tonne/year BDO plant was started up on 20 May, according to the source.
