HOUSTON (ICIS)--Valero’s 125,000 bbl/day Meraux refinery in Louisiana began the restart of a gasoline production unit and alkylation units that were in turnaround, a company spokesman said on Thursday.

Spokesman Bill Day said the fluid catalytic cracker, which produces the main blendstock for gasoline, and the alkylation units that make high-octane gasoline blendstock were all in restart.

He did not say when the units would be back to full capacity.

The turnaround began in late March.
