SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has extended an ongoing turnaround at its No 1 residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) at Mailiao to end-June, a company source said on Friday.

The RFCC, which can produce around 375,000 tonnes/year of propylene, was shut on 25 April and was initially scheduled to resume operations in the middle of June.

The source did not comment on the reasons behind the extension of the turnaround.

The company also runs a No 2 RFCC at Mailiao, which has the same propylene nameplate capacity as the No 1 unit, but it is not scheduled for maintenance this year.
