SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics shut its 90,000 tonne/year No 1 bisphenol A (BPA) line at Mailiao on 1 June for a scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Friday.

The unit will remain off line until mid July, the source added.

Its 100,000 tonne/year No 3 line was shut on 7 April and was originally scheduled to resume normal operations on 31 May. However, the shutdown was prolonged, the source said, without revealing further details.

The company is looking to restart the unit next week, but no confirmed date has been set, the source said.

Its 100,000 tonne/year No 2 line and 130,000 tonne/year No 4 line are currently running at full capacity, the source said.
