LONDON (ICIS)--Huntsman has completed the expansion of its specialty amines facility in Wales, the UK, increasing capacity by more than 50%, the US chemicals producer said on Friday.

The expansion, at Huntsman’s site in Llanelli, will primarily increase production of polyetheramines, Diglycolamine agent and morpholine.

"Our existing global network of plants for these products is further strengthened by this successful expansion," said Stu Monteith, president of Huntsman Performance Products.

The products are used in construction, gas treating, electronics, water treatment, rubber accelerators and optical brighteners.

Huntsman also supplies the amines from facilities in Texas and Singapore, and has plans to build a further plant in Saudi Arabia.

Detailed capacity figures and financial details were not disclosed.
