Explosion kills one at Mississippi fertilizer plant - reports

HOUSTON (ICIS)--An explosion on Friday at the Mississippi Phosphates plant at Pascagoula killed a worker and injured two others, according to news media reports.

The explosion was reported to have occurred at 14:15 hours Mississippi time (18:15 hours GMT), according to news reports by the Associated Press.

Mississippi Phosphates produces and markets diammonium phosphate (DAP). Its DAP granulation plant has a capacity of 850,000 tons/year, according to the company website.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
