SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s Titan Chemicals has cut operating rates at its 285,000 tonne/year No 1 naphtha cracker at Pasir Gudang in Johor to 85% of capacity because of poor margins, a company official said on Tuesday.

Prior to 1 June, the cracker was running at full capacity, the source said.

“We reduced operating rates last Friday and may maintain the reduced rates for the month of June,” the source said.

Titan Chemicals’ 435,000 tonne/year No 2 naphtha cracker at the same site is currently operating at a 95% of capacity, the source said.
