HOUSTON (ICIS)--A fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) at Valero’s 125,000 bbl/day Meraux refinery in Louisiana is back at planned rates following a five-month outage, a company spokesman said on Tuesday.
The FCC unit produces the primary blendstock for gasoline along with by-products, such as propylene.
Spokesman Bill Day said the unit was shut down with an alkylation unit in early January for turnaround, and then left shut down for economic reasons following the completion of the turnaround. Day said the decision to restart the unit came as market conditions improved.
Trading in the US Gulf refined products spot market on Tuesday was little changed from Monday.
