HOUSTON (ICIS)--Westlake Chemical has restarted its Lake Charles 2 cracker in Louisiana, which was off line because of a compressor trip, the company said on Tuesday.

The 699,000 tonne/year unit, which was taken down on 23 May, was restarted during the weekend, a spokesperson said.

Westlake has a second cracker at the site, Lake Charles 1, with 544,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.
