SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Hualu-Hengsheng Chemical is conducting trial runs at its new 80,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) No 2 line at Dezhou in China’s eastern Shandong province, a company source said on Wednesday.

The company expects to achieve on-spec production soon, the source said, without giving a specific date.

The company started up its 80,000 tonne/year ADA No 1 line at the same site in early March and is running it at full capacity, according to the source.

ADA is mostly used to produce nylon 6,6 (polyamide 6,6) and polyurethanes (PU) that are used in shoe soles and polyester resins.
