LONDON (ICIS)--Univar has entered into an agreement with National Starch to distribute its specialty starches in Turkey, the global chemicals distributor said on Wednesday.

The deal broadens a 20-year partnership between the two companies that covers the UK, Ireland, Iberia, and the Nordic region, Univar said, without disclosing financial details.

“We see significant opportunities for high-performance, functional starches in this region, particularly in the bakery, ready meals, dairy, savoury, meat, sauces, and dressings sectors,” said Neil Blackburn, Univar’s supplier director food ingredients for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
