HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refiner Marathon Petroleum has started a planned turnaround at its 206,000 bbl/day Robinson refinery in Illinois, a company spokesman said on Thursday.

“The Robinson refinery has begun planned maintenance activities on a number of operating units,” said Marathon Petroleum Communications Manager Shane Pochard.

Pochard said he could not comment further on refinery operations, including which units were undergoing maintenance and how long the maintenance will last.

A trader in the midwest gasoline market said that Marathon has been a consistent buyer, so there was little gasoline trading impact from the turnaround start up.
