Sinopec Mitsubishi Chemical Polycarbonate to start new PC plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Mitsubishi Chemical Polycarbonate (Beijing) Co Ltd plans to start up a 30,000 tonne/year polycarbonate (PC) unit at Yanshan in Beijing in the middle of this month, a company source said on Friday.

In late May the company had started up a 30,000 tonne/year PC plants at the same site, the source added.

The company has a 150,000 tonne/year bis-phenol A (BPA) unit, which supplies feedstock to its PC units.

Sinopec Mitsubishi Chemical Polycarbonate (Beijing) is a joint venture between Chinese major Sinopec and Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical and Mitsubishi Engineering Plastics.
