SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Huxin Holding Group shut its 160,000 tonne/year polyester line at Xiaoshan in Zhejiang province in early June to prevent further losses, a company source said on Friday.

The source did not give the exact date of the shutdown.

The company will restart the line when the market improves, the source said.

The line produces mainly semi-dull polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips, the source added.

The company has a 200,000 tonne/year polyester line producing mainly colorful polyester filament yarn (PFY) at the same site, which is running at full rates, according to the source.
