HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) exports were down by 16.6% for April from the same month a year ago, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
Exports decreased to 7,372 tonnes from 8,836 tonnes in April 2011.
Month on month, exports fell by 9.9% from 8,182 tonnes in March, the ITC said.
Top destinations for US ABS exports were Mexico and China.
Imports came primarily from South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan. Imports decreased by 2.0% year on year.
US producers of ABS include INEOS ABS, Network Polymers, SABIC Innovative Plastics and Styron.
