HOUSTON (ICIS)--US polycarbonate (PC) exports for April were up by 23.7% from the same month a year ago, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
Exports increased to 38,716 tonnes from 31,308 tonnes in April 2011.
Month on month, exports rose by 1.8% from 38,034 tonnes in March, the ITC said.
Top destinations for US PC exports were China and Mexico.
Imports in April came primarily from Thailand, and were down by 8.7% year on year, with 4,786 tonnes imported.
US producers of PC include Bayer MaterialScience, SABIC Innovative Plastics and Styron.
