US DAP exports down by 26% in April month on month

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US diammonium phosphate (DAP) exports in April were down by 26% from March, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.

US DAP exports fell to 369,366 tonnes in April from 497,625 tonnes in March.

Exports fell in April mainly because of weaker demand from Asia.

April exports also increased from 381,856 tonnes in the same month of 2011.

India at 154,130 tonnes was the major destination of US DAP exports, followed by Brazil at 42,889 tonnes and Argentina at 37,250 tonnes.

Other destinations included Mexico, Thailand, Japan, Colombia, Canada, Australia and El Salvador.
