SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Inner Mongolia Boyuan Lianhe Chemical shut its 600,000 tonne/year methanol unit at Erdos in Inner Mongolia on 10 June for equipment maintenance, a company official said on Monday.

The company will shut the plant for five or seven days, the source added.

“The company is running its 400,000 tonne/year No 1 methanol unit at the same site normally,” the source said, without specifying the exact operating rate.

The reduction in methanol supply is not expected to significantly affect the domestic market because of the falling demand, a market player said.

Inner Mongolia Boyuan Lianhe Chemical is a subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Yuanxing Energy.
