HOUSTON (ICIS)--US pigment producer Cabot has completed a $10m (€8m) capacity expansion at its Haverhill inkjet facility in Massachusetts, the company said on Friday.
The project doubles the production capacity at the facility. The company did not release capacity numbers.
The plant produces Cabot’s CAB-O-JET small molecule colour and polymer-attached pigment, the company said.
“Cabot’s inkjet business benefits from an important technology shift in the commercial printing segment in which inkjet technology is increasingly being adopted in order to adapt to changes in volume and demand,” Cabot said. “Market analysts predict that the inkjet market for commercial print will achieve a compound annual growth rate of more than 35% over the next three years.”
The Haverhill expansion began in the summer of 2011.
