LONDON (ICIS)--Azelis has sold its thermoplastic polymers business to France-headquartered Gazechim, in line with its strategy to focus on specialty chemicals and ingredients, the European chemicals distributor said on Tuesday.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Gazechim is looking to complement its presence in thermoplastic and thermoset products, refrigerant and liquefied gases, said Azelis.

“This transaction allows us to extend our polymers offering beyond France, where we are one of the market leaders, to the rest of Europe,” said Jean Guittard, CEO of Gazechim.

“Going forward we look to accelerate our product offering and service to our customers and partners,” he added.
