SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Liaoning Huajin Tongda Chemical plans to shut down its 100,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) unit in Liaoning in August for regular maintenance, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

The shutdown will last about 20 days but an actual date to take the plant off line has not been decided, the source said.

About 6,000-8,000 tonnes of BD output will be lost during the shutdown period.

Liaoning Huajin Tongda Chemical is a key BD producer in China.
