SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Nippon Steel Chemical plans to restart its 190,000 tonne/year No 1 styrene monomer (SM) plant at Oita on 17 June, a company source said on Friday.

The plant was shut on 17 March because of an outage at Showa Denko’s (SDK) naphtha cracker.

The company also has a 230,000 tonne/year No 2 SM plant at Oita which is running at full rate now, according to sources close to the company.
