SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Reliance Industries’ 325,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Hazira in India’s Gujarat state is currently shut because of a disruption in supply of feedstock vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant has been down since 11 June, the source said.

“VCM supply is short now and the PVC plant will shut for 13-14 days,” the source said without elaborating.

Reliance, India’s largest PVC producer, also operates a 245,000 tonne/year plant at Dahej and a 60,000 tonne/year unit at Vadodara.
