Contract prices for styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) in Europe are expected to follow the drop in June feedstock prices, as butadiene's (BD) monthly contract is expected to settle down.

SBR June contracts have not yet fully settled, and some producers are said to be lowering their prices.

One major SBR producer said it will decrease its prices by €300/tonne ($375/tonne).

May contract prices for SBR 1500 grade were at €2,690-2,750/tonne FD NWE. Spot prices for SBR 1500 grade were at €2,300-2,420/tonne FD NWE, as assessed by ICIS in the week ended June 6. Demand in the tire sector has been weak.
