SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Evonik Industries is building new plants with a total capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year for the production of isophorone and isophorone diamine in ?xml:namespace>
The group is investing more than €100m ($127m) in the project, which is scheduled to come on stream in the first quarter of 2014, the company said in a statement.

Output from the new facilities will primarily serve markets in
Isophorone and isophorone diamine, isophorone diisocyanate and their derivatives are important components for the production of industrial flooring, artificial leather, paints and coatings.
