Russia's potash producer Uralkali buys back shares

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Uralkali will buyback shares valued at almost $1bn (€790m), the Russian potash producer said on Monday

By 15 June, Uralkali's buyback of shares and Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) totalled $854m, Uralkali said.

Based in Berezniki, in the Perm region of the Urals, Uralkali is Russia's predominant potash producer.

In related news, Uralkali last week reported weak production volumes. In the January-March period, Uralkali produced 1.9m tonnes, down 32.1% year on year, the company said on 14 June.
