Sinopec Hubei Chemical Fertilizer plans MEG plant in central China

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sinopec Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company plans to build a 200,000 tonne/year Monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Zhijiang city, Hubei province, a source from local government said on Tuesday.

The company and Zhijiang Municipal Government signed an agreement to build the MEG plant, which will have an investment of yuan (CNY) 1.99bn ($312m), the source added.

“The construction will start in the second half of this year but a start-up date cannot be confirmed now,” the source said in Mandarin.

Sinopec Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company is located in Zhijiang city of central Hubei province.
