SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Qiwangda Group plans to restart its 80,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) unit at Zibo city in Shandong province in the middle of July, a company source said on Tuesday.

The unit was shut on 11 June for maintenance, added the source.

The company has ample inventories for supply during the shutdown period, according to the source.

The company usually produces 200 tonnes/day of MTBE and supplies chemical factories in Shandong, market sources said.

Qiwangda Group also runs a 600,000 tonne/year residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) and a 120,000 tonne/year aromatics unit at the same site.
