HOUSTON (ICIS)--A lightning strike shut down US-based TPC Group's butadiene (BD) plant in Houston, the company said on Tuesday.
The lightning caused the boilers to shut down, which, in turn, resulted in a loss of steam feed to the plant, the company said.
TPC Group is working to restore operations at the plant, it said.
The company's Houston plant has a BD capacity of 545,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
