SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibre (YCF) has shut its 60,000 tonne/year polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) line at Yizheng city in Jiangsu province for scheduled maintenance which will last for about 20 days, a company source said on Wednesday.

The company’s other 20,000 tonne/year PBT line at the same site will continue to run at full capacity, the source said.

The shutdown will have little impact on the PBT market as inventories are high amid weak downstream demand, a local distributor said.
