BUCHAREST (ICIS)--Linde is to start production at an air separation unit built for Romania-based steel maufacturer Sidex Galati, the German industrial gas supplier said on Wednesday.

The €100m ($127m) project was started three years ago. The separation unit will supply around 2,000 tonnes of oxygen/day to the steelworks facility.

Linde has another air separation unit in Romania at pesticide and plastics manufacturer Oltchim’s site in Ramnicu Valcea, delivering oxygen and nitrogen for the production of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and some 200 tonnes/day (about 66,000 tonne/year) of liquified gases for the local gas market.
