HOUSTON (ICIS)--CB&I has won a contract from Russia’s Nizhnekamskneftekhim for work on a planned 1m tonne/year ethylene facility, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Wednesday.
CB&I said that under the $40m (€32m) contract it will provide front end engineering and design (FEED) services for the ethylene plant and for related butadiene extraction and pyrotol units.
CB&I expects do complete its work next year, it said.
Tatarstan-based Nizhnekamskneftekhim said last week that it plans to build new ethylene and polymer facilities in 2016-2017. The ethylene production unit is expected to start up in 2016, the company said.
