Russia's January-May plastics output down 2.8%

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of plastics fell in the first five months of 2012 compared with the same period the year before, the Russian statistics agency Rosstat said on Wednesday.

In the January-May period, the country's total output of plastics was at 2.2m tonnes, down by 2.8% year on year, according to the agency.

However, synthetic rubber production was 1.3% up year on year to 625,000 tonnes, the agency added.
