Poland's chemical output rises 15.3% year on year in May

LONDON (ICIS)--Production of chemicals and chemical products in Poland grew 15.3% year on year during May, the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

Overall industrial production for the month increased 4.6% year on year and 4.5% month on month, it added.

Compared to May 2011, production increases were recorded for 23 of the 34 monitored divisions of  industry for May 2012, the GUS added.

Construction output was up 6.2% and the manufacture of electrical equipment rose 12.5%, it said.

Production decreases were recorded in the manufacture of furniture (10.3%), the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (7.2%), and the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (6.6%), the GUS also noted.
