HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazilian petrochemicals maker Braskem is running its new butadiene (BD) plant in Triunfo at full capacity, the company said on Wednesday.
The facility in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul has 103,000 tonnes/year of capacity, Braskem said, adding that the plant took a total of Brazilian reais (R) 300m ($148m, €117m) in investments.
The company said it has started the unit 50 days ahead of schedule.
Braskem plans to formally inaugurate the plant next month, it said.
The company has three other plants in Brazil with a combined BD capacity of around 420,000 tonnes/year.
