SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Beijing Eastern Petrochemical is running its 24,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) unit in Beijing at full capacity after restarting it on 20 June, a company source said on Thursday.
“The plant was shut on 14 June,” the source said, but declined to comment on the reason for the shutdown.
A market participant told ICIS the shutdown might have been caused by equipment issues.
The shutdown had little impact on the market as the plant’s output is small, according to the company source, who added that the production loss during the shutdown is estimated to be 500-600 tonnes.
Beijing Eastern Petrochemical is a subsidiary of Sinopec.
