KBR provides technology for cracker in Uzbekistan

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based KBR will provide the technology for a 400,000 tonne/year cracker being built in Uzbekistan, the company said on Thursday.

KBR will also provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project, it said. GS Engineering and Construction will provide additional engineering, procurement and construction services for the project. 

The plant will use KBR's SCORE technology, the company said.

Uz-Kor Gas Chemical is building the plant in the Ustyurt region of Uzbekistan.

Uz-Kor Gas Chemical is a joint venture between state-owned oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz and a consortium of Korean companies, including Honam Petrochemical, Korea Gas Corp and STX Energy.
