“We have delayed two BD shipments totalling some 3,000 tonnes because of the outage,” the source said.
“All the BD extraction units are down and we are unclear how long they will remain shut, depending on the investigation and checks now ongoing,” the source added.
Both the 1.03 m tonne/year No 2 and and the 1.2 m tonne/year No 3 crackers at the Mailiao complex were shut following a power disruption earlier on 20 June.
FPCC shut its other 700,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in Mailiao a day earlier than scheduled on 19 June for a turnaround.
The three crackers have a combined BD capacity of about 450,000 tonnes/year.
The BD extraction unit at no 1 cracker has a BD capacity of 109,000 tonnes/year, the no 2 cracker a BD capacity of 162,000 tonnes/year and the no 3 cracker a BD capacity of 176,000 tonnes/year.
