SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals will delay the restart at its phenol-acetone plant in Osaka to 1 August because of current weak market conditions, a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which can produce 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 120,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was shut on 23 June for annual maintenance and was originally scheduled to restart on 25 July, the source said.

The restart date will be push back to 1 August because of weak demand, the source added.
