SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jilin Petrochemical is running its 106,000 tonne/year No 2 acrylonitrile (ACN) line at a reduced rate of 75% of capacity after restarting it on 25 June, a company source said on Monday.

The line at Jilin city in Jilin province was restarted after it completed a scheduled maintenance that started on 28 May, the source said.

The company had shut all its four lines on 28 May for regular maintenance.

It plans to restart 120,000 tonne/year No 3 line on 28 June and intends to run it on a lower operating rate of 75% capacity amid weak downstream demand, the source added.

However, the restart date of the other two ACN lines, including 106,000tonne/year No 1 line and 120,000tonne/year No 4 unit was not immediately known, the source said.
