NAGOYA (ICIS)--Japan-based JX Nippon Oil & Energy is currently running its 170,000 tonne/year Group I base oils plant at Kainan in Hokkaido at “healthy rates”, after restarting the unit on 20 June, a company source said on Monday.

The plant had a two-week maintenance shutdown, the source said.

The company also plans to shut its 150,000 tonne/year Group I base oils facility at Mizushima in Honshu for a month-long turnaround in late August, the source said.

JX Nippon’s Group I base oils plant in Negishi, Kanagawa prefecture, which can produce 200,000 tonnes/year, is scheduled for a 45-day turnaround in October 2012, the source said.
