German shale-gas reserves estimated at 700bn-2,300bn cubic metres

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Germany could have 700bn-2,300bn cubic metres of shale-gas reserves, the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) said on Monday.

The areas with the largest potential for shale gas are the North German Basin and the Upper Rhine Graben, the BGR said.
