SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s largest refiner, JX Nippon Oil & Energy, is in the process of restarting its No 1 fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) at Negishi on Tuesday, a company source said.
The FCC was shut as scheduled for a turnaround on 18 May and was initially due to resume operations on 20 June but this was postponed earlier due to delays in restarting the refinery at the site, he said.
The source did not provide more details.
JX Nippon Oil also runs a residual FCC (RFCC) at Negishi. Both units can each produce around 85,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
