HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF has restarted its Port Arthur cracker in Texas after a major turnaround that began in mid-April, market sources said on Wednesday.

The 934,000 tonne/year cracker is a joint venture between BASF and Total.

The shutdown was as part of a project by the companies to increase feedstock flexibility at the naphtha cracker.

A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
