HOUSTON (ICIS)--Nyrstar’s suffered no plant damage and production was not affected by an accident at its zinc smelter in ?xml:namespace>
The accident, on Monday, injured two employees at one of the site's electric motor control centres, Nyrstar said. The workers were hospitalised. Their injuries are not life-threatening and both are in stable condition.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the incident, the company said in a statement to ICIS, made available on Wednesday.
“There was no damage to the plant as a result of this incident and no impact on production,” Nyrstar added.
