Taiwan’s FCFC to shut Mailiao phenol-acetone plant in H2 August

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) is planning to shut its phenol-acetone plant in Mailiao in the second half of August for a scheduled annual maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant which has two lines with a combined phenol capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year, and a combined acetone capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year  will be taken off line for 35-40 days, the source said.

The definite shutdown dates have yet to be confirmed, the source said.
